Ayurvedic Abhyanga Oil
Daily Inspiration Oil
Abhyanga is an ancient practice used in Ayurveda to balance the doshas and connect with your body. This warm oil grounds the nervous system, nourishes the skin, and inspires a more embodied & intentional lifestyle.
Directions
Center & Breathe
1
Find a warm, quiet space and take three deep breaths to arrive in your body.
2
Warm the Oil
Gently warm a small amount of oil between your palms.
3
Massage with Love
Use intentional long strokes and circular motions beginning at your feet and massaging towards your heart. Recite any intuitive affirmations you would like while performing the self-massage. There is no right or wrong way to do this as long as you massage presently & lovingly.
Rest & Reflect
4
Allow the oil to sit for 10 minutes before showering as usual or leave it on. Either way for 10 minutes, journal, meditate, or breathe reflecting on how inspired, alive, and connected you feel with yourself.
Revel in how proud you are of yourself that you do this daily ritual.
Exactly How I Use This Oil
To make this a daily practice, I recommend first starting to do this every day before you plan to shower, leaving it on for 10 minutes and then proceeding your shower as usual. And then once you don't miss any days, you can do it at night before bed and leave it on. Some days I breathe in bed as I apply the oil slowly over my body, and then do my nightime journaling. Other days when I have more time, I stand in my bathroom mirror completely naked, admiring all parts of my body as I rub in the oil and speak inspiring affirmations to myself. If no affirmations come to mind, I apply it with slow, intentional strokes while listening to soft mantras or solfeggio frequencies.
